Bnei Mitzvah Program

Sunflower Bakery offers a great program for boys and girls preparing to become a bar or bat mitzvah.

The Sunflower Seeds program enables young teens to contribute to our community and help improve the lives of young adults with learning differences.

We believe in the Jewish concept of Tikkun Olam, improving the world, and the Sunflower Seeds Bnei Mitzvah Program is a wonderful opportunity to put this value into action. Teens must be celebrating their Bar or Bat Mitzvah in the current school year of program participation.

Sunflower Seeds Bnei Mitzvah Community Service Project

The Sunflower Seeds Program offers young people a chance to:

  • Learn about Sunflower Bakery
  • Understand the Jewish values that are at the core of what we do
  • Learn and experience how having learning differences impacts training in pastry arts as a profession
  • Assist hands-on in the bakery

How the program works:

  • The program requires a commitment of 8 hours at Sunflower Bakery including informal learning and volunteering.
  • All sessions are held on Sundays
