Sunflower in Your Community is a fundraising partnership that brings Sunflower’s pastry and culinary offerings directly to organizations throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Partner organizations may choose to host monthly pickups, holiday pickups, or a customized pickup schedule based on the needs of their community.
Community members place their orders online and pick them up at their designated location. In return, the host organization receives 5% of the proceeds from all orders placed through its pickup location, creating an easy and meaningful fundraising opportunity while supporting Sunflower Bakery’s mission of providing employment training for young adults with learning differences.
Partner organizations agree to:
Beginning July 1, 2026, all orders delivered to community pickup locations will include a modest delivery and handling fee. This $5 fee applies to every order delivered through the Sunflower in Your Community program, regardless of order size.
The delivery and handling fee helps offset a portion of the costs associated with vehicle operation, fuel, maintenance, refrigeration, and staffing. While customers contribute toward these expenses, the fee covers only a fraction of the actual cost of providing this service.
Thanks to the generous support of The Morningstar Foundation and the State of Maryland, Sunflower Bakery has expanded its delivery capabilities with a refrigerated delivery van, allowing us to serve even more communities while maintaining the quality and food safety standards our customers expect.
We appreciate your partnership and look forward to continuing to bring Sunflower Bakery to communities throughout the region.
